Kennel Manager Thomas Davis has worked at Holmes Veterinary Hospital since 2000.  We are very proud of Thomas, who was South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Client of the Year for 2000.  A film crew was sent here to capture Thomas in action and they made a short film about him to accompany the presentation of Thomas's award at a dinner in Charleston.  We closed the office so the whole staff could attend this very special occasion.  Thomas enjoys dogs and cats equally and they all respond well to his laid-back and gentle demeanor.  Thomas enjoys video games and Asian culture and has several cats.

Thomas "retired" from Holmes Veterinary Hospital at the beginning of August 2007.

His co-workers and his animal friends miss him greatly.

_______________________________________________________

Most veterinary hospitals have one or more "clinic cats."  These cats are very dear to our hearts and live interesting lives, to say the least.  Occasionally one of them antes up and donates blood for a needy patient to earn his or her keep.  But mostly they are our pride and joy.

Fleming, our "official greeter."  He is named after a ghost that is rumored to haunt a historic home on West Main Street in Laurens.  He was injured as a kitten and has no feeling in his tail and impaired control of his bodily functions.

Fleming took a quiz on the Internet and we discovered that in a former life, he was Christopher Columbus, which explains a lot.

Fleming has sugar diabetes and has to get insulin shots twice a day.

His favorite activity is urinating on things.

Dave is our king-sized black cat, and is actually one of the youngest cats that lives at Homes Veterinary Hospital.

Dave lost one eye and sustained damage to the other from a severe viral infection that he had as a tiny kitten.

Dave tips the scales at 23 pounds and enjoys watching surgery.

Bitty is our lounge kitty and our only petite clinic cat.  She loves to recline on Dr. Burns' couch and hide in places where it is hard to find her.

She is our locomotor-challenged kitty and walks with a limp due to a birth defect.

Kitty Marvin is our youngest clinic cat.  At only a year of age, Marvin already tips the scales at 15 pounds and is a lush, blue-eyed Siamese-mix.

Born to an unwed mother and sadly unwanted. Marvin has carved himself out a happy existence here at Holmes Veterinary Hospital.  Marvin's favorite things are hiding inside the x-ray machine and playing with his best friend Dave.

He divides his time between HVH and his home in Mountville.
